In October 2009 the Eynsford Concert Band finalised its fourth recording – a CD entitled ‘Heritage’ – featuring five works by living British composers and taking its name from the specially commissioned piece by Nigel Clarke entitled ‘Heritage Suite’.
2009 marked a new milestone in
the journey of the band, with our collaboration with Nigel
Clarke leading to Heritage Suite (What Hope Saw), his latest
composition for symphonic wind ensemble. We have had an amazing
experience, from the first rehearsal with Nigel through to the
world premiere performance and the recording of this CD.
Working closely with Nigel through the conception, realisation
and first performance of this new piece has given the band a
privileged insight into the amount of work that goes into such
creations. As a result, the band has gained a far greater
appreciation of all compositions for symphonic wind ensembles.
Heritage is now available for download from iTunes, costing £7.99. The CD costs £10 and will be available at our performances. It is also possible to order copies by sending us an email. Postal orders will be subject to £1.50 postage and packaging per CD.
