HOPE is a bronze sculpture by Sarah Cunnington, located on The Green in West Malling.

The sculpture is of a running woman carrying a Dove, caught for an instant in ceaseless forward movement. The rich tapestry of West Malling’s past is shown on the cloak that billows out behind her. The future is still to happen, the dove has yet to take flight, and when it does, it will carry with it all our hopes and prayers for ourselves, our community and our world.

Heritage Suite (What Hope Saw) is a six-movement work inspired by the eight detailed images sculpted on the cape, accompanied by a specially written poem by Martin Westlake, entitled "What Hope Saw".

Sarah was born in Kent and, until recently, lived in Otford, combining her work as a painter and sculptor with teaching in adult education. Her work has won acclaim around the world and can be found in private collections in England, France, Italy Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
