It has long been the intention of our conductor John Hutchins,
to play a concert in the town in which he married Sam; herself a local Waterford girl.
It would all not have been possible without the valuable efforts
of his father-in-law Desmond Miller, who still lives in the
area.
Our concert was a fantastic success playing a range of music
including Olympic Fanfare & Theme (Williams), The Trumpet
Concerto (Hummel), Peterloo Overture (Arnold), & West Side Story
Dances (Bernstein). |

“Trumpet Virtuoso” Crispian Steele Perkins joins with ECB
for concert in Ireland
Yet another legend of the UK brass world, Crispian
Steele-Perkins, performed the Hummel Concerto with us in the
concert. He was described by a US magazine recently as 'the
world's leading player of the Baroque Trumpet'.
Crispian is one of the world’s most respected virtuoso
trumpeters, well known for his concerto and solo appearances all
over the globe. His career began as an orchestral musician and
he later went on to do work for film and television soundtracks.
His playing is heard on James Bond, Gandhi, Jaws, Batman, and Dr
Who among many others. |
