Eynsford Concert Band (Live)
Recorded live at The SPACE, Sevenoaks during our concert ‘For England and St George’ with the Band of the Grenadier Guards on 23rd April 2023.
In the words of the composer Otto M Schwarz:
‘At the best viewpoint over the Alps of Liechtenstein, the village of Guflina is situated. Underneath the overhanging ledge, there is said to have been a cave in the mountain. In it lived a terrible dragon that was on the rampage on the surrounding meadows, spreading fear and terror among the population.
At the same time there lived a giant man up in Guflina, who had the strength of twelve normal men. The farmers implored him to help them in their distress. The giant ventured to fight the dragon and was lying in wait above the cave. When the dragon refused to appear, the giant threw stones into the entrance of the cave. They got into a fight, which the giant only just won with difficulty.
Since that day, people have lived in peace and prosperity.’
Otto M. Schwarz was born in Neunkirchen, Austria, in 1967. He received his music education at the Academy of Music in Vienna. Currently, he composes music for commercials, films and movies. Since 1995 Otto M. Schwarz has published compositions for concert band, fanfare band, brass band and orchestra with Hal Leonard, Hal Leonard Europe, De Haske, Mitropa Music and Symphonic Dimensions www.symphonicdimensions.com (distributed by Hal Leonard). He received the golden medal of honour by the republic of Austria and country of lower Austria. In 2022 he received the BUMA International Award in the Netherlands.
